Dr. Andrew Logan, CEO
Andy co-founded Cobio in 2018 with Chris Cox. He is Cobio's Chief Executive Officer and manages the company's day-to-day operations. He has more than two decades of experience in start-up biotechnology firms as an inventor and co-founder, having raised over $40M in venture capital. He holds M.S. and PhD degrees in Environmental Engineering from Colorado School of Mines, and a B.S. degree in Biology from James Madison University.
Brandi Steidley Lab Manager/Senior Scientist
Brandi joined Cobio as the Laboratory Manager in July 2024. She holds an M.S. degree in Microbiology from Ohio State University and has over 13 years of laboratory experience, including clinical diagnostic testing. Prior to joining Cobio, Brandi held positions in a wide range of laboratories including university research roles, private food safety testing, the federal BioWatch Program, and the Colorado State Public Health Laboratory. Her drive comes from a deep passion to help her community through accurate and effective science. When not at work, Brandi enjoys reading, hiking with her family, and ice skating.
Duane Bush Senior Scientist
Duane started with Cobio on a consultant basis in 2017 and became a full-time employee in 2025. He brings over 30 years’ experience designing and building immunoassays on various platforms, primarily for infectious disease detection including six years working on phage-based antibiotic resistance assays. He has taken a number of these assays from feasibility through to commercial viability. He has B.S. degrees in Wildlife Biology and Microbiology from Colorado State University, along with a M.S. degree in Biology, concentration in Parasitology from CSU.
Riann Rohn Laboratory Tech II
Riann joined Cobio as a Laboratory Technician II in Fall 2025. She has more than 5 years of clinical and research laboratory experience. Prior to joining Cobio, she worked in the infectious disease clinical laboratories at the nation's leading respiratory hospital, National Jewish Health. At NJH, she was involved in instrument validations, QA/QC initiatives, and served as a dedicated trainer in the laboratory. Riann is passionate about improving clinical diagnostics and patient care, which is central to Cobio's mission. She holds a B.S. in Biomedical Laboratory Science from Michigan State University. When not hiking in Colorado's mountains, you might find her exploring Denver's food scene with her husband, or at a local climbing or CrossFit gym.
Dr. Chris Cox, CSO/PI
Chris co-founded Cobio in 2018 and is Chief Scientific Officer, Primary Investigator and inventor of its core technology. He has 20 years of R&D experience in microbial detection and ID, phage-host interactions, antimicrobial resistance, and resistance countermeasures. He has many peer-reviewed papers and book chapters and reviews for NIH study sections and scientific journals. He completed his PhD in Microbiology at Harvard and BS and MS in Microbiology from the University of Oklahoma. Off duty, he enjoys cycling, skiing, hiking and travel.
Abby Olsen Business Operations Manager
Abby joined Cobio as the Data Manager in 2023 and has grown with the company to become the current Business Operations Manager, overseeing Cobio’s administrative, human resources, and financial departments. Prior to joining Cobio, she worked for 15 years as a high school Science Teacher and Teacher Workshop Leader. Abby is passionate about Cobio’s mission and technology, and loves being able to support the scientists’ work through the management of Cobio’s operations. She holds B.S. in Biology and Master of Education degrees from Portland State University in Portland, Oregon.
Taehyun Park Research Scientist
Taehyun joined Cobio in October 2025 as a Research Scientist and brings over 20 years of experience working with bacteriophages, microbial genetics, and applied biotechnology. His work has included studying phage-host interactions, developing recombinant phages, and exploring nanoparticle-based therapeutic delivery at various universities as well as contributing to phage-based fermentation projects as a Phage Research Scientist at ADM. He enjoys collaborating with others to solve problems and translating research concepts into practical outcomes and is excited to be contributing to meaningful biological applications in industrial and clinical settings. Taehyun completed his PhD at Texas A&M and postdoctoral work at Cornell University.
Advisory Team
Cobio’s research and development efforts are guided by experimental data and informed by ongoing input from experienced diagnostics industry professionals and practicing clinicians. Cobio’s Advisory Team includes infectious disease physicians from the University of Colorado and The Children’s Hospital of Colorado.
